How we work

“Give a woman a fish and she will eat today.”. “Teach him to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.”
(Chinese proverb)
The professionalization of local staff, supporting local non-profit organizations with affordable prices, and a policy of zero tolerance for corruption are the basis of our model.
We want to facilitate access to quality health with a future for all people in sub-Saharan Africa by offering a sustainable healthcare model. And we do it through comprehensive collaboration in the medium and long term, with primary care health centers and non-profit hospitals.
The intervention of Recover Foundation focuses on the transformation of these centers into specialized and reference health entities. The final objective is that after a period of 12-15 years, These centers are managed autonomously and sustainably., without depending on foreign aid.
The intervention model of Recover requires an average investment of 1 million Euros per center throughout its implementation. Recover makes sure that, after a correct identification of needs at the beginning of the collaboration, the centers end up offering a basic quality primary care service. To do this, it carries out – progressively and throughout different phases – , the necessary investment in infrastructure, equipment, training of health personnel and management, computerization of centers and carrying out campaigns.
Finally, as a final touch to the accompaniment performed by Recover, We want 'our' centers to be capable of collaborating with each other and being networked, thus being able to contribute to the training of personnel from other centers that may need it..
